For the month of AUGUST ...

from Pastors desk

AUGUST News from Pastor Brenda...

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul.” Psalm 23: 1-3a

Psalm 23 is one of the most know and beloved Psalms and rightfully so. We have had this Psalm at least three times this year during Easter and Lent. How is it different hearing it now in the time of Pentecost? When the green grass surrounds us? When the gardens are growing and the flowers are budding? When we see our beautiful waters and maybe even take a dip in the cool lake! I pray that you have time with your friends; family and those you care about to take some time to relax and feel restored. Some time for reflection and wonder. A time of quiet to be outside to feel the grass beneath your toes and just enjoy. God created this all just for us. Just for you. He wants us to take care and appreciate all of this. He wants to be our shepherd to take care of yourself. Rest. No wants and cares. In the green of summer and beautiful waters and rains, and a restored (rested) person. In addition, we have some normal, yet beautiful and restored things going on with all the activities of the church. We are participating in new ways of Holy Communion; worship in person and on line, and in print. We are singing and rejoicing. First Communion classes, Mission Trips and Vacation Bible School along with plans for the upcoming year of celebration. Bible studies will be in full swing and maybe some new ideas to grow, gather and support one another. New members will be welcomed .. Make sure you say hello to them and get to know each one. May you know and feel the shepherd who takes care of you in all of your life.

Blessings and Peace to Each of You, Pastor Brenda Wicklund

“Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life.” Psalm 23: 6a

We express our Christian sympathy to the families of Robert Sievert (brother-in-law of Paggy Smith) and Patricia Sandin (mother of Wendy Reamer-Johnson).  May they know the consolation of your love; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord and give them peace.
